We connect strategy with implementation.

We are a consultancy service that specialises in urban forest strategy, urban tree management and greening solutions. We work with public and private sectors to combine practical on-ground experience with evidence based strategic thinking to ensure realistic and effective outcomes.

What we do

  • We develop comprehensive, forward-looking urban forest strategies that balance ambitious urban forest goals with practical, achievable management actions. Our strategies are tailored to enhance canopy cover while addressing local challenges such as resource constraints and community needs. By setting measurable targets, aligning organisational capacity, and recommending best practices for tree planting and maintenance, we create a strategic roadmap for sustainable urban forest growth. Our approach integrates data-driven insights, stakeholder engagement, and adaptive management to ensure long-term success and environmental benefits for both current and future generations.

  • Measurement and analysis of canopy cover to identify trends, set achievable targets, and support informed decision-making for effective urban forest management. By leveraging high-resolution data from sources such as satellite imagery, aerial photography, and ground assessments, we set precise, achievable targets for canopy expansion. This analysis supports strategic planning and optimises resource allocation, enabling decisions that strengthen canopy resilience, mitigate urban heat, and enhance ecological and social benefits.

  • We conduct in-depth assessments of an organisation’s capacity in urban forest management, evaluating structures, processes, and resources to identify strengths and gaps in service delivery. This tailored assessment provides actionable insights into areas where efficiency and effectiveness can be improved, from staffing levels and expertise to operational workflows and budgetary resources. This approach ensures that our recommendations are not only ambitious but also feasible, building a foundation for long-term success that can adapt to evolving needs and resource availability.

  • We conduct comprehensive reviews of relevant policies and planning documents to ensure alignment with best practices and urban forestry goals, providing recommendations that strengthen regulatory frameworks, promote canopy retention, and facilitate effective tree management. Our review encompasses documents focused on tree protection and development regulations, including key frameworks such as Development Control Plans (DCPs) and Local Environmental Plans (LEPs).

  • Meaningful engagement with the stakeholders and the community is central to our approach. We develop and deliver tailored engagement strategies to foster community support and input on urban forest initiatives, including workshops, public surveys, and stakeholder consultations. We ensure that stakeholders can voice their needs and ideas, fostering a shared vision and encouraging a strong sense of ownership in the urban forest.

  • We provide comprehensive tree asset management plans focused on proactive care, lifecycle management, and risk mitigation. These plans prioritise maintenance, resource allocation, and response strategies, integrating seamlessly with client operations to support sustainable urban forest management without requiring full tree inventories.

  • We create strategic street tree master plans that enhance urban liveability, biodiversity, and canopy cover across streetscapes. Our plans include site-specific recommendations for species selection, planting design, and long-term maintenance to ensure trees thrive within urban constraints. By aligning with climate resilience goals and urban planning objectives, our street tree master plans help shape green, shaded streetscapes that support community wellbeing and environmental sustainability.
